Each candle's volume is spread across the price levels it traded through, then summed per level. The Point of Control is the single most-traded price — a strong magnet/pivot. The Value Area is the band holding 70% of all volume; price tends to revert to it, and breaks above/below it often signal acceptance of a new range. Levels are derived from OHLCV, an honest approximation of true tick-level profile.
